FREDDIE WOODMAN 7 Had a very quiet opening half in truth. Saved well to deny Anthony Knockaert and was relatively untroubled after the restart. Another clean sheet for the Newcastle United loanee. KYLE NAUGHTON 8 Had a lot to deal with on the right of Swansea’s back three but coped well enough. Superb sliding tackle to prevent Lyle Taylor from running through on goal. Top display. RYAN BENNETT 8 Top notch in the air and did well to nullify the threat of Taylor. Already looking like a top signing. MARC GUEHI 8 Starting for the first time since the loss at Norwich, Guehi showed impressive composure and looked solid on his return. Aside from his blip which led to Knockaert’s chance, it was a good showing. CONNOR ROBERTS – Star Man 8 Got high up the pitch and carried a real threat in the final third. Incredible bravery to put Swansea ahead, and can be hugely pleased with his performance. KOREY SMITH 7 A really battling display from the central midfielder who regularly broke things down in the middle of the pitch. JAY FULTON 7 The deepest of Swansea’s midfielders, Fulton constantly nipped at the heels of the Forest attackers. Really showed his worth once again. MATT GRIMES 7 Set pieces weren’t the best, but it was impossible to fault his eagerness to make things happen. JAKE BIDWELL 7 Not as much of a threat as he’d have liked in the first half, although was decent in a defensive capacity. Solid enough in the second half to help Swansea see it out. ANDRE AYEW 7 Swansea’s greatest threat in what was a low key first half and looked to create something out of nothing given the lack of goalmouth action in the game. Guile was always there for all to see. JAMAL LOWE 7 Quiet in the opening half and guilty of losing the ball cheaply at times, although his physicality was useful. Really helped Swansea’s cause in the second half though. Sign up to our Swansea City newsletter now!Want the latest Swansea City news straight to your inbox? Fast food giant McDonald’s has come under fire for ‘cultural appropriation’ over a new Christmas burger. Some customers have been left disappointed with the ‘Jerk Chicken Sandwich’ due to some of the ingredients. The burger features two crispy chicken selects topped with spicy jerk sauce, bacon, pepper jack cheese, onion and lettuce in a sourdough bun, reports the Mirror. The chain has been accused of ‘cultural appropriation’ after the £4.39 sandwich was released earlier this month. Jerk marinade is usually made with allspice and Scotch bonnet peppers. But on McDonald’s website, the ingredients for the sauce are listed as including “tomato paste, Habanero chilli puree, caramelised sugar syrup, spices, garlic, ginger and basil”. On Twitter, one critic commented: “The more I think about it the more I’m bothered by the McDonald’s ‘jErK cHiCkEn’ attempt. It shows me one of two things: 1. They don’t care to respect the culture “Or 2. They have zero diversity on their team.” Another tweeted: “I love jerk chicken… that ain’t no damn jerk chicken McDonald’s!” A third replied: “How’s @McDonaldsUK putting a little jerk sauce or whatever it is in the chicken sandwich and calling it jerk? Enough is enough!” A fourth added: “Tried the new McDonald’s ‘jerk chicken’ burger yesterday, and as a man of Caribbean descent, I can categorically confirm that 2 chicken selects with some of Levi Roots reggae reggae sauce is in fact not jerk chicken at all.” On Facebook, one woman complained: “How is this jerk? Cultural appropriation yet again.” A video featuring the new festive burger was shared on TikTok with the caption: “Cultural appropriation at its finest tbh.” One viewer commented: “Tried this today & tbh the utter disrespect.” Another referenced the row over chef Jamie Oliver’s ridiculed Jerk Rice, adding: “When I saw this advertised I thought this has definitely Jamie Oliver’s jerk rice energy.” A third person suggested the name should be changed. They added: “I tried it, it was nice right but it was literally barbeque sauce, like [I know] what jerk tastes like. “I’m black, [I] have it all the time so it shouldn’t be jerk.” But others approved of the spicy new addition to the festive menu. One fan tweeted: “Just had a very excited @leepablolewis on the phone cus he just had the jerk chicken burger from McDonald’s. “Best he’s ever had in his opinion.” Another commented: “I promise you the McDonald’s jerk chicken sandwich is the best thing to come out of 2020.” A third begged the chain: “Please please please do not get rid of the new jerk chicken sandwich it’s the the best thing ever.” A McDonald’s spokeswoman told Mirror Online: “Our Jerk Chicken Sandwich uses jerk seasoning in its spicy sauce. “In the product description, we make it clear that the sauce is the jerk component of the sandwich.” from https://taxi.nearme.host/mcdonalds-comes-under-fire-for-cultural-appropriation-over-new-burger-leicestershire-live/ |
