Theories about what the sculpture methods have actually been flying around social media over the previous couple of days, with theories that it is a commentary on the environment, or on the loss belief in God, or had even been created by the Illuminati. However, the’artists’behind the church have stepped forward to state that it is not as interesting as individuals may picture. 2 teenagers, Aaliyah Louw and Joseph Blackmore , both 17, decided to construct the structure after discovering the fly-tipped bricks on August 16. Aaliyah, from Lutterworth, said:”It was starting to rain, and we did n’t want to stroll any further and were a getting bored, so we chose to simply develop a little shelter for a laugh. “Then we simply discovered the sticks that were kind of in the shape of a cross, and put it on top.”There wasn’t actually any other motivation behind it, besides desiring to have some enjoyable.”Aaliyah said that her and Joseph invested about an hour-and-a-half structure the structure in the rain, and a few of the walls had to be strengthened because they kept dropping throughout building. Images of the church soon ended up on social networks, which Aaliyah stated did not surprise her, but she was shocked by the theories that were distributing about it. She included:”We didn’t expect individuals to run as far as they finished with it, thinking that it was social commentary, when it wasn’t.”She likewise stressed that she did not leave the bricks there, but that they had been fly-tipped in the field months earlier. She said:”Fly-tipping is horrible, it makes such a mess of the landscape, so we believed, why not make something enjoyable out of it? “Nevertheless, there is still an unsolved mystery, as Aaliyah and Joseph just composed’church ‘after they built it and someone else altered it to ‘Church of Discomfort ‘. Aaliyah stated:”It is quite odd. ” We went back on August 18 to have a look, and there quite a great deal of people around and that’s when we understood somebody had changed it to’Church of Discomfort’. “We chose to remove that bit, due to the fact that we didn’t like the undertones, and didn’t desire to upset anyone.” from https://taxi.nearme.host/secret-of-church-of-discomfort-in-lutterworth-fixed-as-artist-comes-forward-leicestershire-live/ A4 TRAGEDY: There is nothing we can do now taxi driver first at the scene | Wiltshire Times8/24/2020 Their car left the road, ploughed through a hedge and burst into flames in the garden of a house in Old Derry Hill, on the A4 towards Calne. President Trump should use his executive authority to index capital gains taxes to inflation, a tax cut that would benefit millions of middle income households. ATR looked at Internal Revenue Service data from 2017 (the most recent available data) to determine what percentage of middle class households had a capital gains filing: In Pennsylvania, more than one million households had a capital gains filing in 2017. 58 percent of those households made less than $100,000, and 83 percent made less than $200,000. These results are just from one year. Imagine how many middle income households would be helped over the course of a decade by ending the inflation tax. The breakdown for all 50 states is below. But the launch of Multichoice’s DSTV in 1996 started a gradual change of the narrative. While this service majorly served the need of the rich, the introduction of other PayTV options in the 2000s broke monopoly and allowed more Nigerians to benefit from this service. Amid all the challenges which have plagued the entertainment industry in 2020, Nigerians recently started demanding a pay-as-you-use model which will allow them only pay for what they use, rather than paying a fixed rate for a package monthly irrespective of usage. The House of Representatives was at the forefront of this request. READ ALSO: Chelsea FC posts N46.42 billion loss in 2019 MultiChoice refused to bend as it says that it does not have the capacity to operate PPV model, as it operates a prepaid pricing model across the 50 Sub-Saharan African countries where it operates. While the South-African company was busy trying to explain how its model does not allow it to detect when a customer is enjoying the service or not, its competitor, StarTimes announced that it had already integrated a flexible subscription plan where customers do not have to pay for what they do not get. The model, according to the PR Manager of StarTimes Nigeria, Lazarus Ibeabuchi, allows subscribers to choose daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly plans and enjoy all exciting content on their preferred package/bouquet valid for the period paid for. Maybe this was not what Nigerians had in mind when they demanded the pay-as-you-go billing system, but it was a lot more than MultiChoice was offering in its DStv and GOtv bouquets. It still provided a viable alternative giving customers a feel of being in charge of what they pay, and what value they get in return. READ MORE: On Twitter, Nigerians are demanding pay per view subscription from DStv With as little as N90 or 160 naira daily, subscribers can watch several exciting channels, both foreign and local entertainment channels. Note that both companies had, at the end of H1 2020, announced a new price plan for its bouquets in response to the new Value Added Tax (VAT) rate of 7.5%. In its public announcement, MultiChoice noted the company had absorbed the additional 2.5% tax for the first half of the year, in the hope that the federal government would revert to the old tax rate before the end of Q1 2020. Even though this action attracted lots of criticisms, the company has insisted that it would not be able to continue absorbing the extra costs given the large market in Nigeria, as it was already telling on its finances. Some of the critics of this action claimed that the company is exploiting Nigerians, making them pay more than they should, even when the epileptic power supply in the country does not allow customers to get maximum value for subscribed plans. The sports baitIn July, MultiChoice Group announced a new partnership with Walt Disney Company Africa, a partnership that brought in two 24-hour ESPN channels to DStv customers in Africa allowing them to enjoy the very best of US sports. Note that some years back, ESPN withdrew from broadcasting in Africa and Europe. This new deal means that only DStv customers on the continent will now be able to watch the channels. MultiChoice was still basking in this euphoria when Startimes announced that it had acquired four-season transmission rights to the Spanish Laliga and the UEFA Nations League, to be broadcast from 2020/21 to 2024 season across sub-Saharan Africa. Even before this latest acquisition, StarTimes was already making a statement in sports broadcasting. It had exclusive rights to the Europa League, Bundesliga, Coppa Italia and Copa Del Rey. The PayTV operator also airs the English Football League Championship (EFL), Major League Soccer (MLS), Belgian Pro League, Netherlands Eredivisie; and Basketball tourneys – NBA and The EuroLeague; Formula E, MMA and Major League Wrestling. Children and family entertainmentAway from sports, the competitors have taken their game to the children and family entertainment space. Just recently, StarTimes partnered with the NBCUniversal International Networks’ (NBCUIN) to bring the DreamWorks family entertainment channel on the StarTimes pay TV platform across sub-Saharan African. According to Lily Meng, head of StarTimes’ media division, the addition of the channel with its range of animated TV series is a timely deal coming at a time when “most kids and parents are staying home.” On a similar note, MultiChoice had announced moves to integrate Netflix and Amazon Prime Video services into its Explora decoder as part of an agreement. According to the statement, the agreement is a proof of its aggregator model which provides choice and convenience for customers. “As our industry evolves, we believe that we are well-positioned to benefit from both worlds – a large, growing pay-TV market in Africa, as well as an emerging over-the-top opportunity, where our own OTT services and aggregation capabilities can drive success,” CEO Calvo Mawela stated. The company also said that it has commenced field trials for its own DStv streaming products, to be launched later in the year. This will be added to the streaming offering currently offered on Explora, the Showmax. Observers opine that MultiChoice recent decisions are part of a larger strategy to remain the leading pay-TV channel and content aggregators. The heated competition continues across all channels, especially on social media where both operators try to actively engage their customers with trailers and snippets from their content. During the Sallah celebration, StarTimes sent gift packages to some randomly selected customers as contributions to a bountiful celebration. There is also the ongoing promo where StarTimes customers stand a chance to win smartphones, bulbs and other gifts, when they do two-months subscription. I want to express my profound gratitude to @StarTimes_Ng for sending me this flat screen digital LED TV today after buying their decoder few weeks ago. The beauty about Startimes is that I can pay daily and weekly, and it is very affordable. This TV has an inbuilt decoder too pic.twitter.com/Zg9tDbAe0i — ᴏᴍᴀsᴏʀᴏ ᴀʟɪ ᴏᴠɪᴇ☤ (@OvieSheikh) August 4, 2020 This is clearly a competition that is not ending anytime soon, but interestingly, it would appear that the customers are the final beneficiaries of the tussle as each PayTV operator tries to outdo the other. from https://taxi.nearme.host/ride-hailing-uber-says-industry-guidelines-are-inconsistent-unclear/ We found the elusive MEGA KAREN. Yup. I was just threatened w/assault at @kroger in Louisville because I asked another customer to wear a mask, and she refused. I reported it to a manager, who found her and talked to her, but refused to do anything more. His name is Andy, and he does not want Twitter to know that. pic.twitter.com/pATepOuSeJ — Danielle Muscato (@DanielleMuscato) August 8, 2020 There is an entire thread here about how ‘Danielle’ is a victim because ‘she’ accosted a female customer who didn’t want to wear a mask. It’s pretty pathetic and honestly, since we already covered the biggest most annoying Karen we’ve seen YET, we thought we’d focus on what Target Tori did. You guys remember Target Tori, right? That progressive toad David Leavitt tried to get her fired because she wouldn’t let him buy an expensive toothbrush for a penny? People rallied behind her, started a Go Fund Me, and sent her on vacation? Welp, she did the same for #KrogerAndy (whose GoFundMe is STILL growing, when we looked it was like 15k): Dear Andy, I didn’t want the twitter world to know my name either. Turns out it isn’t half bad. If you need someone to talk to… I’m here for you. (Can we stop using social media as a tool to shame people at their place of work?) https://t.co/Pg3HvtkJxg — Target Tori (@RealTargetTori) August 8, 2020 We don’t see a response from Danielle, but she is still complaining about the person not wearing a mask. Karens are gonna Karen, we guess? You do realize the person threatened to beat me up, right? It’s not just about refusing to wear a mask. I didn’t feel safe shopping while they were still in the store. I didn’t want to get physically hurt, besides the virus risk. A @Kroger cop was right there and did nothing. You do realize if you had minded your own business this wouldn’t even be a story, right? Police were already there. There was an off-duty cop, hired by @Kroger as security, standing right next to us during this conversation. They just didn’t care. — Danielle Muscato (@DanielleMuscato) August 9, 2020 HOW DARE ADULTS ALLOW OTHER ADULTS TO BE ADULTS?! I care about essential workers. I’m low income. I live w/an essential worker! I asked a customer to wear a mask, who then threatened to beat me up, while I was buying groceries at @Kroger. I reported the threat to mgr & security. They didn’t care. I was not safe there. I left. — Danielle Muscato (@DanielleMuscato) August 9, 2020 Good gravy. Get off the cross, dude. Sorry, ma’am. I’m aware of the fundraiser for #KrogerAndy’s vacation & have no problem with it. I wish him well on his trip—He’s an essential worker during a pandemic & has my gratitude for that.@Kroger however, needs to change their policy to ACTUALLY require masks. This is utterly useless: pic.twitter.com/7KGTVD1tvm — Danielle Muscato (@DanielleMuscato) August 9, 2020 HA HA HA HA HA HA Basically: Screw their employees, screw their customers. They care about money. They hire off-duty cops to stand around, in uniform, for security. And instruct them NOT to enforce the mask mandate. The sign on the door saying masks are required to enter is completely for show. — Danielle Muscato (@DanielleMuscato) August 9, 2020 Imagine having this much time to rant about Kroger and masks. Btw when I say “security,” I mean loss prevention (shoplifting). I asked. That’s the only thing security @Kroger has the go-ahead to address: Their signs & security are for show. Kroger cares more about the revenue of anti-maskers, than the health of their workers and customers. — Danielle Muscato (@DanielleMuscato) August 9, 2020 *sigh* Well, it was a nice try, Target Tori but as with most Karens, Danielle wasn’t interested in talking or fixing the issue. She just wanted to throw a tantrum for attention. Second verse, same as the first.
